Major achievement of the current programs:

Up to date ECARDS-Dolakha conducted several programmes in all VDCs and a municipality of Dolakha district and some VDCs of Sindhupalchok district too. The organization worked especially for poor, socially backward dalit, ethnic community, women, children, and poorest of the poor family. A conservative figure shows that more than 15,000 HHs received direct benefits from the ECARDS. In initial phase the programmme was focused in relief package where as in current phase the programme is centralized in natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, promotion of micro and small scale enterprises, protection of human rights, return and reintegration of children associated with armed forces and armed groups, peace building activities for conflict management, implementation of community based climate risk management initiatives on NAPA thematic sector in Dolakha district, community/reproductive health, local governance and community development programme, education rights, women rights, rights to land and food. Now, more than 18 staffs are working in the field of natural resource management, community based climate risk management initiatives, sustainable agriculture development, psychosocial counseling, community/reproductive health, and micro enterprise development sector and local governance and development programme.

The major achievements of the programs are:

• Formation and institutional development of several communities based groups and mobilized: locally 150 farmer groups, 30 enterprise development groups, 22 women groups, 10 Dalit groups and 42 CFUG-sub-groups were formed and actively operated. 
• 5 VDC level women right forum, 5 regional level poor rights networks, 1 district level land right forum, 1 district level NTFP network, 1 district level micro-enterprise management network, 1 district poor forum, 1 district level Children right forum and they have started advocacy in their protection of rights.
• ECARDS-Dolakha facilitated 3 NTFP (Non timber forest products) collection center, 4 timber depots, 1 firewood collection depot, 1 Nettle processing plant, 1 Handicraft industry. This has resulted promotion of local resources and employment generation in local level.   
• In five VDCs, there was a continuous reflect training and the participants were from poor, marginalized farmers. They were empowered and operated CFUG, cooperative, community school, and other income generating activities. It has resulted access and control of the poor in resources is drastically improved in village level.
• Identification of poor households and empowerment, a total of 30 CFUGs have started community based income generating activities in more than 50 hectares of land such as cardamum cultivation, broom grass cultivation, lokta and argeli cultivation. In this process, 500 poor households directly benefiting and receiving a handsome amount of money.  
• Formation and mobilization of 20 child/youth clubs and 30 village child protection committees in the community level. The child/youth clubs organized several child rights related activities and peace building activities for conflect management in the villages.
• Formal education support provided to 319 conflict affected children (comprising of 132 Children Associated with Armed Force and Armed Groups (CAAFAG), 187 Children Affected by Armed Conflict (CAAC)/ Vulnerable Children (VC).
• Reintegration of 4 Verified Minors and Late Recruited (VMLR)s in the society.
• Establishment of referral system in the district for child rights and formation of integrated co-ordination committee among the stakeholders working in the field of education and child.
• 5 Local disaster risk management committee formed in 5 VDCs of Khare/Suri watershed areas and 5 Local disaster risk management plans (LDRMPs) were prepared besed on guidelines of Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MOFALD). 13 community disaster management committees were formed in the vulnerable communities to reduce the risk from disaster. Search and recue and first aids materials were provided to 8 Community Disaster Management Committees (CDMCs).
• Rainguage station was established in Singati to measure rainfall and temperature.
• 10 ECO-DRR Clubs (Environment conservation and Risk reduction clubs) are formed and fuctional to create awareness about the environment and disaster in the schools.
• Institutional development and organized for the vulnerable people (Like; disabilities, women, dalit, janjati, poor) and emergency health supported and first aid facility provided.
• The programs were disseminated through ECARDS bulletin (Janjibika quartly) and other locally operated F.M.
• ECARDS initiated public auditing, social auditing, participatory monitoring and evaluation and increased transparency of the programmes.
